To better constrain the evolution of the liquid that formed lar 06319 through cooling, crystallization, and degassing, we have performed new analyses of this meteorite Lar 06319 is the first member of the enriched shergottite subgroup whose bulk composition, and that of melt inclusions in its most primitive olivines, approximates that of the parental melt. Lar 06319 is a newly discovered (as part of the 2006 ansmet field season) martian meteorite that represents an important opportunity to further our understanding of the geochemical and petrological constraints on the origin of martian magmas.
