Over 30 years ago i did a little drag racing I’ve been through all sorts of exhaust systems and this trd cat back is the most pleasant sound i’ve found for a v6. There was calculation we used for how much pipe was needed after the headers to get correct backpressure

After that the pipe does nothing but move exhaust away from passengerrs I noticed some other threads about this exhaust and some stating it was the “same” muffler as the trd or so i thought i’d share some comparison pictures i took before the install Not much point to this story except to confirm that all the magic happens within a few feet of the heads.

Get rid of that unsightly tailpipe and resonator on your 2024 and up tacoma Typically you would simply weld in a muffler at an exhaust shop with lower production models like the i4 2.7 The 2.7 hasnt changed since 2005 much so you can visit youtube and search for tacomas with 2.7 i4's and you'll find many likely have magnaflow etc welded in at a shop. Currently considering doing a simple axle dump exhaust setup on my 2020 v6 tacoma — basically chopping the tailpipe after the muffler and fabricating.
I will use the same muffler but dual exhausts instead of one and 2” piping instead of 2.5” Will it sound dramatically different the single exhaust with the the super 40 muffler vs same muffler with duals Thanks blue2010, dec 22, 2017 #7 Picture two mesh cones, touching tip to tip—that’s all there is to them
There are no baffles to restrict flow, or fiberglass packing to blow out over time
After nearly 22 years my truck is finally in need of new muffler and tail pipe.am having difficulty finding oem for it so have to goto aftermarket. I have a 2005 black dcsb prerunner v6 4.0l Almost a year ago i swapped the stock muffler out with the spintech super pro street 9000 muffler for a much more aggressive sound I originally saw a video on youtube of the muffler on a f150 and loved it
I hadn't seen anyone with this muffler on a tacoma and thought i would try it out. There are three rubber hangers the muffler/tailpipe assembly slides into I've never worked with hangers before They're quite difficult to get the muffler/tailpipe support bars to slide out of/into
